Remedy Kombucha Greenfield Expansion Project
MetroMotion engaged Fineweld Stainless Steel as the fabricator for the Remedy Kombucha expansion project in their new facility in Dandenong South.
A total of 12 tanks from 5,000L to 30,000L capacity for various applications. Approx 30T of stainless was used in this project with grades including 304, 316 and 2205 (duplex). Rather surprising to learn that fermented tea is quite acidic and therefore 316SS was chosen as the primary material for all wetted components to give a higher resistance to corrosion
Tanks included:
- 25,000L Tea Buffer tank - 316ss wetted parts, insulated and SS outer sheath
- 30,000L Hot Water Tank - 2205 (Duplex) wetted parts Insulated and sheathed, internal heating elements
- 7,000L Caustic Tank 316SS wetted parts Insulated and sheathed, internal heating elements
- 5,000L Secondary Fermentor - 316SS wetted parts Dimple jacket, bottom aerator, insulated and outer sheath
- 10,000L Hibiscus tank - 316SS wetted parts, side entry agitator, insulated and outer sheath
- 3 x 20,000L Brew Storage tanks - 316SS wetted parts, side entry agitator, insulated and outer sheath
- 2 x Primary Fermentors - 316SS wetted parts, insulated and outer sheath
- 2 x PFS Tanks - 316SS wetted parts, side entry agitator, insulated and outer sheath
